Region 1 Representatives (northwest Kansas)
Don Tedford, Colby
Don Tedford lives in Colby, Kansas. He was elected to the Board
in 2007. Don has been hired as the driver for Wings Upon the Prairie, a CRO in Colby. Don has served as Treasurer
and Vice-President for the CAC. He is a graduate of the Leadership Academy. He also serves on the GMHSPC
Transformation Subcommittee, as well as the Monitoring State Hospitals Task Force. Don looks forward to using his experience
in representing consumers of northwest Kansas.

Region 2 Representatives (northcentral Kansas)
Richard Stitt, Manhattan Richard is the Executive Director of Morning Star, the CRO located in Manhattan. Richard is
an emerging leader in our state, and is currently a student in the Leadership Academy. We are excited to have Richard
serving on our board, and look forward to him reaching out to consumers in his area.

Denise Baynham, Kansas City Denise was appointed to
the CAC Board in November of 2009 after having been off the board for 3 years. Denise was on the founding Board of Directors
for the CAC. She is an active peer advocate and supporter in Wyandot County. Vacant - Region 3

4 Representatives (southwest Kansas)
Shelly McNutt, Hanston
Shelly is currently living in Hanston, Kansas. Shelly was elected to the CAC Board of Directors
in June, 2008, following her appointment is May, 2007. Shelly was the Director of "Serenity", the CRO in Greensburg.
She is a graduate of the Leadership Academy, and enjoys to serving on the CAC.
Diann Brosch, Hanston/Dodge City Diann was appointed to the CAC Board in the Spring of 2009.
She currently serves as the Executive Director of Dodge City Peaceful Tribe CRO. We are excited to have Diann on the
Board! Region 5 Representatives
(south central Kansas)
Carr Floyd, Wichita Carr is serving her first term on the CAC Board of Directors
having been elected as one of the representatives for region 5 at the 2009 Kansas Recovery Conference. She also works
for Project Independence in Wichita as Co-director. Carr is a go-getter and a wonderful addition to the CAC board! Candi Coker, Hutchinson
"Hi!
My name is Candi Coker, and I help represent Region 5. I pass on information to others in many different ways, so that
they can understand what is happening in their communities and beyond. I have the willingness to speak out to the best
of my ability for others, as well as for myself. I am willing to think outside of the box, because for me, there is
no box."
Region 6 Representatives (southeast Kansas)
Nancy Craddock, Ark City
Nancy was recently appointed to the CAC in September, 2008. Nancy
graduated from the Leadership Academy in 2008, and now serves as a mentor. We are excited to have Nancy serving on the
CAC. Melisa Conner, Baxter Springs Melisa was elected to the CAC Board at the Kansas Recovery
Conference in June 2009. We are very glad to have her on the council representing consumers in region 6.
Urban CRO Representatives
Rene' Strunk, Wichita,
Project Independence
"Hello. My name is Rene Strunk, and I am the Executive Director of Project
Independence, Inc. of Sedgwick County, which is the CRO located in Wichita, Kansas. I am a graduate of the 2007 Leadership
Academy and LEAP class. I am very excited about serving on the CAC Board, and feel there is so much to learn about the
consumer movement. Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve. I really appreciate it."
Rene' served as the Secretary for the CAC for FY '09.
Nancy Jensen, Wichita Nancy was appointed to the CAC Board in February
2009. She is a graduate of the Leadership Academy and Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) Training Program and
worked for MHASCK as a CPS. She currently contracts with the WSU Center for Community Support and Research on the CPS
Training Team and to assist CROs with Patricia Deegan's Common Ground Program. What an asset to our board!
Rural CRO Representatives
Brian Lohrenz, PS Club, Wellington,
KS Jeffrey Hunter, PS Club, Wellington, KS Jeffrey and Brian were both elected to the CAC Board
at the 2009 Kansas Recovery Confernce. Both are graduates of the Leadership Academy and leaders in their CRO - PS Club
in Wellington, Kansas. Both are great additions to our board of directors! Peer Providers Karen Cook, Lawrence
Karen is a Recovery Educator
with the Kansas WRAP Project at KU School of Social Welfare. She provides WRAP and other recovery trainings
to Kansas mental health consumers and agencies. Elected as a Consumer Provider Representative to the CAC in 2006, she
believes her role with the CAC is to provide consumer voice to promote positive change in the Kansas mental health system.
She is a 2001 graduate of KU's Consumer as Provider (CAP) Training Program and has worked in a variety of human service programs
during her career. Prior to joining KU, she worked for three years as a member of the homeless team and as an attendant
care worker at Pawnee Mental Health Services in Manhattan. Karen currently serves as the President of the
CAC.
Kathy McNett, Great Bend
"My name is Kathy McNett. I am one of the Peer
Provider Representatives on the CAC Board. I work hard at listening to consumers all over the state and taking
both our cheers and our concerns to meetings at the state level. I serve on both the Suicide Prevention Subcommittee
and the Transformation Subcommittee of the Governor's Mental Health Services Planning Council. I also represent Adults
with SPMI on the GMHSPC. I have also recently become chair of the Anit-Stigma and Discrimination Task Force. Besides
these 'official' capacities, I am busy asking the media for more responsible coverage of mental illness. I love animals
and promote the benefits of animals as a possible treatment option for some people." Kathy seis the current Past President of
the CAC.
Clubhouse Model (Breakthough) Representatives
Glenda
Hickey, Wichita
Glenda recently was elected to her second term as a Clubhouse Model Representative.
Living in Wichita, Glenda is active at Breakthrough. Since being on the CAC, Glenda has been active as an officer, most
recently serving as Treasurer for FY '08. She has served on various subcommittees, and is a graduate
of the Leadership Academy. Glenda looks forward to serving this second term.
Sam Schrepel, Wichita
Sam was recently re- elected back to the CAC, where she previously served as a CAPs representative.
Sam brings her wit, insight, and creativity to the board. Currently she serves as the Treasurer on the CAC board of
Directors. General Advocacy Representatives
Randy Johnson, Lawrence, Mental Health America of the Heartland Randy is not new to the consumer movement. Randy has served as the Office of Consumer Affairs person for the
State of Kansas. Randy's new job position has allowed him to serve on the CAC. Recently elected in June, 2008,
Randy looks forward to reaching out to consumers across the state. Randy is very proud of his family (just ask him about
his kids). Randy is our Vice-President for Fiscal Year 2010.
JoAnn Howley,
Topeka, NAMI Kansas
JoAnn is not new to the CAC. Having sit out one term, JoAnn has been relected to the CAC, this time in the position
of a General Advocacy Representative. JoAnn is active in NAMI. She is a member of Sunshine Connection (her CRO
in Topeka). JoAnn is a current student of the Leadership Academy. Welcome Back, JoAnn!
Emerging Leaders of Tomorrow Representatives We currently have two (2) vacant positions.
To serve as a representative for this position, a candidate to be considered for appointment must be between the ages of 18
- 25.
If you are interested in any of the vacancies, and you qualify for the position (living
in the region, or being a member of the stated organization), then let us know! We will pass on the information to the
Board President, who makes decisions on appointments.
